About Us

Coffs Coast Multicultural Society (CCMS) is a volunteer-led organisation.

Our objectives are:

  • Promote and embrace the cultural diversity of foods, music, dance, fashions, sports, languages and other traditions of local communities.

  • Engage, invite and welcome individuals and organisations to work together collectively in order to achieve common goals.

  • Add to the community's understanding of Australian values among diverse multicultural communities.

  • Enable integration of individuals and groups of people into mainstream Australian society.

  • Promote and maintain multiculturalism through peaceful and harmonious relations across all people of the Coffs Coast.

  • Maximise opportunity and minimise duplication of effort through a formal CCMS delegation or subcommittee liaising with all levels of government.

We pay our respects to the Gumbaynggirr people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live and work. We acknowledge and respect Elders past and present and extend this respect to all First Nations peoples. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
